Relational distress is hard. Couples are often surprised to find themselves stuck in a rut, where they have their favorite fights on repeat. I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) with couples, which has over 30 years of research supporting its effectiveness. Together we can slow down the issues that overwhelm your relationship. Then we can work toward building unity and healthy connection.
You don’t have to do this alone. When working with individuals, I use a relational approach to address family of origin issues, depression, anxiety, stress related to work, boundaries, trauma, PTSD, grief, loneliness, and more.
In premarital counseling, we identify and address potential challenges and help to build on relational strengths. Topics to address: family of origin, sex, money, expectations, roles, and relational cycles.
I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) in my work with couples and individuals. EFT has over 20 studies supporting its effectiveness in helping couples move through areas of distress and pain. Many studies have shown that having healthy relational bonds helps us to navigate the many challenges that life presents.
Eye Movement Desensitation Reprocessing (EMDR) is a trauma therapy that allows people to regain their balance after experiencing traumatic events. EMDR helps to reduce the symptoms that are a direct result of experiencing trauma. EMDR accesses the neural networks where trauma is stored and heals them, so that the body doesn’t have to experience significant distress when reminded of the traumatic event.
